I wanna be na nah na nah nah takes you to another Ponsonby, before neighbourhood fences and fashionable bars, when the future of this working-class melting pot was anything but certain. Theatre makers Stephen Bain & Tessa Mitchell weave drama, interviews and images, set to a darkly pulsing 80s soundtrack. The free bus will pick you up from The Basement and take you to Ponsonby Rd, guided by a headphone soundtrack and three performers who meet you along the way. These true stories begin in 1983 and twist their way through backyards and alleyways in search of the present.
